BURNING GHATS

Varanasi, India

To escape the cycle of rebirth many Hindus want to
be burned on the banks of their holy river Ganges in Varanasi.

It takes 200kg of wood and three hours to burn a human being.

200 to 300 people find their last rest at this special Ghat every day.

Others come to hang out, talk or sip a cup of chai.
